A leading global management consulting firm was relying on an aging suite of Oracle Forms applications to support key internal workflows, including HR, finance, and project tracking. Over the years, incremental fixes and patches had compounded into significant technical debt. The systems were difficult to update, hard to integrate with newer technologies, and costly to maintain. What once served the business well had become a bottleneck slowing innovation and limiting agility. These systems were difficult to update, support, and integrate with newer tools. 

The Approach

Talan’s Oracle Technology team conducted a comprehensive technical assessment to evaluate the complexity and business importance of each legacy application. Working closely with internal stakeholders, we identified critical processes and reusable logic and designed a modernization roadmap that minimized disruption.

Using Oracle APEX, our team rebuilt and consolidated these Forms-based applications into a single, streamlined platform. The modernization effort preserved core business logic while introducing modern UX/UI standards, performance enhancements, and new capabilities such as dashboard reporting, mobile responsiveness, and secure integration with other enterprise systems. 

The work followed an incremental modernization strategy that prioritized high-value processes, deprecating obsolete functionality, and reduced long-term maintenance overhead.

The Results

The modernization effort led to significant improvements across the board. Multiple Oracle Forms applications were consolidated into a single Oracle APEX platform, resulting in a more consistent and user-friendly experience.
