Givenchy and Talan: A Winning Collaboration for High-Performance Retail Strategy

Context

Givenchy, world-renowned for its men's and women's fashion collections, is a House that has been redefining the codes of elegance, chic, and femininity since its founding in 1952. With a presence in 69 countries and 100 directly operated boutiques worldwide, Givenchy faced major challenges regarding information management and retail performance.

The company's business units struggled with information access, while multiple reports, tools, and disparate sources complicated strategic decision-making. However, Givenchy remained open to innovative solutions to overcome these obstacles.

Challenges

The primary challenge for Givenchy was to revitalize its boutiques and implement action plans to optimize the performance of its sales force. To achieve this, several key objectives were identified:

  • Implement a common reporting solution accessible in-store.

  • Integrate a solution combining goal-setting (data entry) and performance tracking.

  • Adopt a common language for all user profiles, from General Management to Sales Associates.

  • Develop an intuitive and user-friendly application for use by all boutiques and central functions.

Method

Designed by Talan using the Qlik Sense solution and in close collaboration with Givenchy's Retail Department, the G-Connect Store project was deployed across Givenchy boutiques from April to June 2023.

Key methods used to reach the set objectives include:

  • Consolidation of functionalities: G-Connect Store groups goal entry and activity tracking within a single application. Real-time data entry was implemented using Write!, a plug-in module for Qlik Sense.

  • Co-design: G-Connect Store was developed in collaboration with business users, ensuring the solution was tailored to their specific needs. The application is accessible via iPads for in-store sales staff and via computers for headquarters employees.

  • Automated reloads: Data is automatically refreshed at regular intervals to enable real-time decision-making.

Benefits

Givenchy now has a centralized tool to steer its boutiques and stimulate sales, facilitating strategic decision-making.

The analytics application associated with G-Connect Store updates data every 30 minutes, allowing users to cross-reference information from various data collection tools.

All boutiques and users worldwide can enter their targets in real-time, fostering proactive performance management.
